The Artifact's Lore

The cage was not built to hold something in. It was built to mark the boundary of something that had already decided to stay — the ceramic blood, fixed mid-splatter on the pendant, arrested at the moment of maximum dispersal, going nowhere. The titanium chain carries red cross links where the classic version carried the inverted star: a different symbol for the same enclosure, the same cold geometry of containment rendered in a different vocabulary. The ceramic splatter on the pendant is not identical across artifacts — the dispersal pattern is determined by the firing rather than by intention, and no two configurations are the same. This artifact does not ask what it is containing. It simply continues to mark the boundary, in the revised vocabulary, against whatever the wearer has decided requires marking.

Lore & Provenance

The angel cage tradition holds that certain things require not a lock but a symbol — a mark that tells what is inside that the boundary exists, and tells what is outside that the boundary has been drawn. This artifact is the revised edition of that tradition: a ceramic body chain carrying blood-splatter ceramic on the pendant and red cross links along the titanium chain, a chromatic revision of the classic inverted-star configuration. The blood dispersal pattern is determined by the firing. The cross links are fixed. The boundary is the same.

Anomalies & Forging

The ceramic blood splatter on the pendant is formed during firing — the dispersal pattern is not controlled, and no two artifacts carry the same configuration. The splatter density can be noted at time of ordering: more or less dispersal is accommodated, with the default following the configuration shown in the reference images. The red cross links along the titanium chain are consistent across artifacts.

Physical Composition

Material: Ceramic pendant with blood-splatter glaze finish; titanium steel chain with red cross links
Blood splatter: Random dispersal pattern, primarily splashed form; density adjustable by order note
Production lead time: 30 days
Note: This is the revised edition — red cross chain links distinguish it from the classic edition (inverted star links)

Containment Protocols

Store flat or coiled loosely in a dry, padded environment. The ceramic pendant carries its splatter configuration by virtue of the firing — handle with the deliberate calm appropriate to any object whose most distinctive surface was produced by a process that cannot be repeated. Keep away from moisture and prolonged contact with oils or solvents.

The Curator's Archive

Q: What is the difference between this and the classic edition?
A: The classic edition carries an inverted star motif on the chain links. This revised edition carries red cross links, chosen for chromatic correspondence with the blood-splatter ceramic on the pendant. The ceramic pendant form is otherwise consistent between editions.

Q: Can I request more or less blood splatter on the pendant?
A: Yes. Note the preference at time of ordering — more or less dispersal is accommodated. The default follows the configuration shown in the reference images. The dispersal pattern remains random within the requested density range.

Q: What materials are used?
A: The pendant is ceramic with a blood-splatter glaze finish. The chain is titanium steel with red cross links.

Q: How long does production take?
A: Each artifact requires 30 days to complete.

Q: How should this body chain be stored?
A: Store flat or loosely coiled in a dry, padded environment. Keep away from moisture, oils, and solvents.

Artifact Preservation

Each relic within our archive is either artisan-forged or meticulously unearthed. The materials bear the natural marks of time, forging, and intentional decay. Micro-texture shifts, asymmetrical forms, and heavy patina are never flaws—they are the vital proof of authenticity that separates these oddities from mass-produced objects. To preserve its essence, avoid harsh chemicals and allow the artifact to age naturally within your personal sanctuary.

Acquisition & Transport

Due to the rare and often singular nature of our curated archive, all acquisitions are handled as final once dispatched.
If an artifact arrives damaged in transit, please contact the Archive within 72 hours of delivery with an unboxing video or clear photographic evidence. Once verified, we will arrange an appropriate resolution.

The Archive's Ethos

Since 2025, Awhisker has evolved from an independent studio into a curated gallery of grotesque collections and unearthed oddities. This archive is dedicated to every curious soul who dares to gaze into the abyss. We do not just sell objects; we curate the macabre, the asymmetrical, and the profound.
