The Artifact's Lore

Moonlight does not survive the descent intact. What the tide returned was not the light that went in — it was something the deep had processed and kept too long, then released in the form of this shell. Silver across every ridge and spine. At the center, where the spiral tightens, an eye opened. Grey-blue iris, pearl-scattered lash, the residual warmth of a lunar body that no longer remembers the surface. The shell does not look up. It has already seen everything above it and found it insufficient.

Lore & Provenance

This relic belongs to The Lover’s Eye series — a catalogued study of the gaze as vessel. The conch shell, silver-glazed across its full spiral structure, does not carry the eye as ornament. The faux ocular form at center is the point toward which the entire architecture of the shell has always been oriented. The moon contributed the finish. The deep contributed the attention.

Anomalies & Forging

The natural conch shell is hand-glazed in silver with full-coverage metallic finish across all ridges and spine structures; the faux ocular form is embedded at the shell body with pearl-scattered lash detailing. Minor asymmetry in the glaze pooling across spine edges, variation in the ocular placement, and slight irregularities in the lash array are inherent to the forging process — not deviations from it.

Physical Composition & Physical Scale

Material: Natural conch shell, silver metallic glaze, pearl, mixed media, faux ocular form
Dimensions: 4.72 × 4.72 × 3.74 in (approx.)
Production: Made to order; 20–30 business days
Shipping: Ships as soon as the piece is complete

Containment Protocols

Display on a stable, level surface away from direct moisture exposure. The glazed shell surface should not be submerged. Avoid pressure on the spine array and the central ocular form. Keep away from abrasive surfaces. Indoor display only.

The Curator's Archive

Q: What is the ocular form made from?
A: The eye at center is a faux ocular construction — not biological tissue. The grey-blue iris, pearl lash detailing, and sclera are hand-applied mixed media set within the silver-glazed conch shell body.

Q: What are the dimensions of this relic?
A: The forged piece measures approximately 4.72 × 4.72 × 3.74 in. Minor variation exists across pieces by nature of the shell material and hand-forging process.

Q: How should this relic be displayed?
A: The piece is a tabletop relic. A shallow display tray or specimen platform is recommended to stabilize the irregular conch base and protect the glazed spine structure.

Q: How long does acquisition take?
A: This relic is made to order. Forging requires 20–30 business days. Shipping follows upon completion.

Artifact Preservation

Each relic within our archive is either artisan-forged or meticulously unearthed. The materials bear the natural marks of time, forging, and intentional decay. Micro-texture shifts, asymmetrical forms, and heavy patina are never flaws—they are the vital proof of authenticity that separates these oddities from mass-produced objects. To preserve its essence, avoid harsh chemicals and allow the artifact to age naturally within your personal sanctuary.

Acquisition & Transport

Due to the rare and often singular nature of our curated archive, all acquisitions are handled as final once dispatched.
If an artifact arrives damaged in transit, please contact the Archive within 72 hours of delivery with an unboxing video or clear photographic evidence. Once verified, we will arrange an appropriate resolution.

The Archive's Ethos

Since 2025, Awhisker has evolved from an independent studio into a curated gallery of grotesque collections and unearthed oddities. This archive is dedicated to every curious soul who dares to gaze into the abyss. We do not just sell objects; we curate the macabre, the asymmetrical, and the profound.
